Owner/Lead Speech Language Pathologist: Kristen Taylor, MA, CCC-SLP
Kristen Taylor (she/her/hers), the Owner and Speech Language Pathologist of Taylor’d Pediatric Therapy offers 15 years of experience with the pediatric population.
Kristen graduated with her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. She grew up in Northern Kentucky where she learned the importance of taking care of her family, friends, and neighbors, supporting them in times of need. She brought this desire to support others into her career, initially as an elementary classroom teacher, and later as a speech-language pathologist. After teaching children in both Arizona and Kentucky, meeting many students, and working with families, she felt the need to do more for each individual child. A few years later, she started her career as a speech-language pathologist working in a public school system in Dayton, Ohio supporting students with communication needs, including those using speech generating devices. Her next adventure included traveling as a speech-language pathologist, which created opportunities for her to work with children in the New England area. During this time she fell in love with Rhode Island. She worked at Meeting Street with infants and toddlers enrolled in early intervention, worked with school-aged children in public school systems, and served at a private school specializing in teaching children with autism spectrum disorder and other pervasive development disorders. Her time at Meeting Street also included sitting on a consulting team of providers for families who were in need of support as they navigated through finding ways to communicate with their child. This included the use of symbols, systems, devices and supporting families with the initial diagnosis of disorders such as autism spectrum disorder. She was also a consulting clinician for United Cerebral Palsy in Rhode Island for children and families needing support in how to increase overall communication skills. After several years of practicing, the feeling to do more once again returned. She had a dream to open a private practice working with children of all ages and their families.
In fulfillment of her desire to provide the best care and individual attention for children with speech therapy needs, Kristen opened Taylor'd Pediatric Therapy. Help your child reach their dreams, and contact us today to schedule your free phone consultation. We want to support your family.
